Just a quick note to say...

THANK YOU to the 40+ people who came out to Chic Mama/Nursery Couture today for the Halloween shoot. What was a crazy turn-out! And it went so smoothly, thanks especially to my friends DD, Katy and Ashley who worked hard all day to keep things rolling. They rocked, and so did all the little lambs, and vikings, and monkeys, and fairies, and kitty cats, and dinosaurs. It was cute-overload for sure. Then when I got home, it was full speed ahead with Trick-Or-Treating and non stop until bedtime. I'm SO DONE for the night, but I do feel the need to say if you're waiting for a response from me via email, I promise I'm not ignoring you. I have every intention of getting caught up tomorrow.

Hope you all had a fun Halloween!

Slippery Slope.

Jason INSISTS on buying Halloween candy early, but totally disregards the RULE that you are only supposed to buy the crap you DON'T want to eat! Like, dum dum pops and tootsie rolls (gross!)...and jolly RONCHers. NOT Reeses cups and Snickers and OF ALL THINGS, NEVER EVER should you early-purchase the ALMOND JOY. I've eaten them ALL people. As in, NO ALMOND JOYS FOR YOU Trick-or-Treater! And it was bad toward the end, watching me DIG through the bowl, like a junkie in a trash can. If this goes on, there's no telling what might happen. I might become so big that I'm bed-ridden with an oxygen tank at my side. Richard Simmons and his striped panty-shorts will have to come over and convince me that life is worth living. He'll have to wipe tears off my cheek as they rip down my bedroom wall, so the towing company can load me onto their flat bed. Then I'll have to be on Dr. Phil in my bed gown (via satellite because I can't fit on a plane), while he tells me that I need to take responsibility for my life. And I'll say, "But I can't because Jason early-purchased the Almond Joys." At which point the whole audience will gasp in understanding, and chime in unison, "That's RIGHT DR. PHIL! What was she supposed to DO?!!" And then Dr. Phil will see the light. And even he will know that I had no other choice, under such sabotoging circumstances. And he will apologize to me, and then yell at Jason for putting me in this situation.

Holiday Update

Last time I talked to DD about the Halloween Shoot, she said we were booked solid through the afternoon and were already filling up quickly in the new time slots that we opened for the morning. So, if you're interested in Halloween pictures, and haven't called yet, you may want to call 545-7217 ASAP. This has been the craziest response yet, due to the all-inclusive ultra LOW pricing. So, don't miss out! One more thing, I received a few inquiries this week about how many outfit changes you can bring. The answer is ONE. You are welcomed to bring them in their costumes, or even regular clothes if you prefer. But each outfit change will be considered a different session. Sorry folks, but these are MINI sessions. :0)  If this is the first you're hearing about it, click the Halloween button to the left to find out more details.

While I'm at it, I should say that I'm getting very close to closing out the year for 2007. If I was really serious about my sanity, I would do it right now, but I know there are a few of you out there who have been going back and forth with me via email, regarding dates. If this is YOU, EMAIL OR CALL ME SOON. I have already booked the last 5 appointments I had open for the year. But now have opened up a few more to try to accomodate. These will NOT last. So yes, I know it's Halloween, but THIS IS IT for Christmas people. If you're procrastinating, CALL TODAY!

One more thing, I know I won't be able to fit everyone in this year, so I'm extending 2007 pricing into January, IF you schedule your appointment before December 31st. Appointments will be made for JANUARY ONLY. So, if you miss out on Christmas, there is still good news if you call this year. If you wait until January to call, the "Sweet Deal" package will be double in price. If you have questions about this, call me or scroll down for the link where I explained it all out. I'm too lazy to find it to link to it right now.   :0)

later!

Monday, Monday...ba da ba da da da...

My whole family got to watch together (no fair) as BOSTON WON THE WORLD SERIES! WOOHOO BOSTON! Jesi and Winston, I bet you guys are freaking! What a lucky charm you have!

We spent yesterday at The Patch. It has become a tradition for us, however I think this year was slightly less enjoyable than the last few visits. It started with a grumpy old man yelling at me for opening my car door when we parked. I was in the middle of taking Emily out of her car seat when he screamed at me to wait until the next car pulled up before I got out of the car (too late). But it was strange being yelled at, so my first assuption was that he was kidding and I kind of laughed. That was when he pointed his finger and hollared for me to "behave myself". Because you know how menacing those van-driving mothers of three can BE. Just OPENING car doors all over the place... all WILLY NILLY.

So we set out to BEHAVE our way into a fun Fall day.  :0)

This was the cutest goat. He loved to be scratched on his face, just like a dog.

We stopped here afterwards for the best apple pie you will EVER eat. I swear, it weighed 40 pounds (and probably added that much to my backside), but it was SO worth it.

This was funny, and it's my Best Shot Monday. You walk into this orchard-happy little cottage, that turns everyone into polite little citizens of Apple Heaven. All the Harley riders, and grannies are suddenly making small talk about how perfect it all is. EXCEPT. For Miss Always-Marching-To-Her-Own-Drum Anniebelle. Who held her nose the entire time, asking when we were going to get out of the stinky house.

On the way home, we found a DRIVE THROUGH BEER STORE. I knew there was a reason we moved to Texas.

So that's it for now. There is SO MUCH going on today, and tomorrow, and well every day until mid January. So I'm off to tackle the mountains. Have a good Monday! Also, don't forget to check out the other Best Shot Mondays over at Picture This. I could relate to Tracey's post a lot today. The idea that sometimes you miss the Chicken Dance because you're taking pictures of it. Let's agree to NEVER miss the Chicken Dance you guys. Not even for a photograph.

GO BOSTON!!!

I'm not a big sports person. When I moved here five years ago, I almost got lynched and burned alive for asking "What's a Spur?" But my Mom and Bill are totally OBSESSED with the Red Sox. They get the special channel so they can watch EVERY SINGLE game throughout the entire season. And this has made us fans through osmosis. However, it's never as fun to watch the game without them because they know all the facts and history and personalities, and make it more interesting. So, I'm totally jealous of the fact that they're visiting my sister right now AND got to watch together last night as Boston SPANKED the Rockies HARD! GO BOSTON!!! And how appropriate is it that last weekend I shot the cutest couple who are expecting their first baby, whose name will be BOSTON! I think he is definitely a good luck charm for the team, and they are for sure going to win the World Series now. For SURE.

Jesi and Winston are one of the most genuine, easy-going couples I've ever met. They are so in love, and comfortable in their own skin. My job couldn't have been more easy or fun. Plus, we were shooting in Gruene, which is a little town where every corner screams to be photographed. I will definitely be back. This was one of their first shots of the day. They literally took NO time to warm up in front of the camera. I LOVED THEM!

This was taken at The Gristmill, which is a great place to eat if you're up there. Normally they use this board to write names of people who are waiting for a table. But they were nice enough to let us turn it into a prop for a minute. I will also say that they were MUCH nicer than the beeyatches at Banana Republic in the Quarry last month that wouldn't let us take a photo through their window.  :0)

I love the 'hold-on-for-dear-life' quality of this one.
